Winter Seasonal Work ’19-’20

Once you get into seasonal work, it sort of becomes a way of life.  I’m going into my second season at Alpine Meadows. Over the summer I worked a seasonal position at a asphalt sealing company. It was a great job with nice people who are into skiing too! They were also super nice to let me take a month off to go travel to Fiji. I have a hard time making long term plans but I think I’ll be back there next summer! For now it is getting chilly again and I’m thinking snow!

If you are considering a seasonal job I highly recommend it. Decide where you want to go, what you want to do then start searching on sites like Coolworks.com. I decided on a ski resort because well I wanted to ski more and I always wondered what it was like to live/work in a ski town. The perks of working at ski resorts is that it usually involves a free season pass. If you don’t know how to ski or snowboard, no worries you’ll have all season to learn. It’s a time to try new things, explore and meet people.

I spent most of the summer season bouncing around. After my cross country road trip I camped all over the Tahoe area. Campgrounds, stealth camping, hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail, then glamping in the South Pacific. Glad to be settling down now. I got an apartment with only one other person this season! Yeah. On the hunt for some new boots to go with my new skis. Stick around I’m about to send it!
